A Blessed Day to all. This is the day we gather together for a time of prayer, praise, and proclamation of the Word of the Lord to we, His people. It is a great grace and blessing to be so blessed as to be in His presence in this special way and time. He is there, among us. I don't deserve that, not by any means, but He has reached down to bless me in this and in many other ways. Grateful does not begin to cover it all.
Dear Wife is continuing to recover from her ordeal(s) of the last few weeks, the Big One on Friday being one. The General Anesthesia that they had her under is something that she does not shake off very well, and is still dragging somewhat. So am I, frankly. We shall endure, regardless.
In a quiet moment yesterday, an old song came to mind and I couldn't shake it. One of those I recall from childhood (some seeds got planted) with a worthy phrase, " loyal forever" The hymn is titled "True Hearted, Whole Hearted". Several versions of it are available. I like the music on this one, here, but the lyrics are displayed here. Yes, "faith is the watch word". Hadn't heard this one in many years, nor thought of it either. Now, well, it's stuck in my mind. A call to be whole-hearted, not lukewarm. I'm guilty of that, more often than not. Or, sometimes, worse.

there of old. 41

the rest of the Amalekites that were escaped, and dwelt there unto this
day.
I Chronicles 5
1 Now the
sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but
forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto
the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be
reckoned after the birthright.
2 For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him
came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's:)
3 The sons, I say, of Reuben
the firstborn of Israel were, Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
4 The sons of Joel; Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son, 5 Micah his son, Reaia his son, Baal his son, 6
Beerah his son, whom Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria carried away
captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.
7 And his brethren by their families, when
the genealogy of their generations was reckoned, were the chief, Jeiel,
and Zechariah, 8
And Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt
in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baalmeon:
9 And eastward he inhabited unto the entering
in of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were
multiplied in the land of Gilead.
10 And in the days of Saul they made war with the
Hagarites, who fell by their hand: and they dwelt in their tents
throughout all the east land of Gilead.
11 And the children of Gad dwelt over against
them, in the land of Bashan unto Salcah:
12 Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan. 13
And their brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael, and
Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.
14 These are
the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of
Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the
son of Buz; 15
Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their
fathers. 16
And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the
suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.
17 All these were reckoned by genealogies in
the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of
Israel. 18 The
sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of
valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow,
and skillful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and
threescore, that went out to the war.
19 And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and Nodab. 20
And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered
into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in
the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust
in him. 21 And
they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of
sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of
men an hundred thousand.
22 For there fell down many slain, because the war was of
God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity.
23 And the children of the
half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan
unto Baalhermon and Senir, and unto mount Hermon.
24 And these were the heads of the
house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and
Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men,
and heads of the house of their fathers.
25 And they transgressed against the God of
their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the
land, whom God destroyed before them.
26 And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit
of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneser king of
Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites,
and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor,
and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.

The reading for the day in the New Testament is verses 1-20 of chapter 8 in the Gospel of John.
This includes the account of His decision in the case of the woman caught in the act of adultery. I promise that she was not the same person that night as she had been that morning. When you meet Jesus, that's what is supposed to happen.
John 8:1-20
1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
2
And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the
people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
3 And the scribes and
Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had
set her in the midst,
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery,
in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what
sayest thou?
6
This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But
Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though
he heard them not.
7
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto
them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at
her.
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9
And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went
out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus
was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had lifted up
himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are
those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus
said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
12 Then spake Jesus
again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth
me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
13 The Pharisees
therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is
not true.
14
Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet
my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye
cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
16
And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and
the Father that sent me.
17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
18
I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me
beareth witness of me.
19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus
answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye
should have known my Father also.
20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he
taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not
yet come.
