low 90's here. The locals think that is incredibly hot. Having lived in regions where 105° or above, for weeks at a time, were not unusual, it's warm, but not horrible Now, that time in those "warmer" climes began around 20 years ago, and I was obviously much younger and more adaptable. So I notice it more than I once had.
I was outside a couple of times pulling weeds in the vegetable garden in back. It always gives me thoughts of the Biblical references to tares in the field, and reminds me that I, all of us, need to give attention to removing those "weeds" in our own lives. Perfection is not possible, of course, but pursuing it is worth some effort.
Added to that, today is the "collect the trash" day, when we make another effort to rid our place and our lives (and the refrigerator too) of things we don't need or are deliberately discarding. Trash pickup is in the morning. Clearing the decks of the "junk" in our lives is an ongoing effort, it is discouraging how readily the wrong things creep in and take up space.

See all the references to the gold and treasure and wealth? Such had been forbidden by the Lord, back during the Exodus. Ignored, forgotten, or whatever I do not know: perhaps it was the sort of competition thing that the nations around them did.
See the references to the queen of Sheba? That region is probably the same area we now call Yemen. A source of trouble then and now, though quite wealthy then. Speculation is that the queen of Sheba had a son by Solomon, another of those forbidden things. But then, Solomon had a vast number of wives and concubines, leading to a whole bunch of sons, some ambitious to claim the throne, which quite naturally led to some serious problems.
2nd Chronicles 9
1And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
2And Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not.
3And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
4And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel; his cupbearers also, and their apparel; and his ascent by which he went up into the house of the Lord; there was no more spirit in her.

4Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore ease thou somewhat the grievous servitude of thy father, and his heavy yoke that he put upon us, and we will serve thee.

6And king Rehoboam took counsel with the old men that had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, What counsel give ye me to return answer to this people?
7And they spake unto him, saying, If thou be kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be thy servants for ever.
8But he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him, and took counsel with the young men that were brought up with him, that stood before him.
