Getting close to official Autumn. That will be on Monday, Sept. 23.
Rather quiet today. We had the great-nephew this morning. Had fun with the little guy. Great-niece was at school, where they're dealing with echoes of yesterday's flap when an 8th-grader was found to have made threats to shoot up the school. That person is spending some time at the JJC, but the echoes continue and probably will for a while.
Two songs, and both follow the place where my head has been lately. I saw a quote this morning from Spurgeon (I think) to the effect that a Christian's primary (not sole) concern should be, not agonizing over sin, but obedience to the Lord's calling and direction. Not sure I agree totally, as both are extremely important, but then, to loosely quote Scripture, if we know what we are supposed to do, and willfully don't, that is sin.

1The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.
2Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
3I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
4The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the Lord of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
5They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the Lord, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.
6Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
