Today's Readings and Stuff -- Thursday, 22 September 2016

Dear Wife is "watching" two Great-Nieces:  the one who lives next door, daughter of niece, and one from a couple miles up the road, daughter of nephew.  They're playing together decently, a rarity, but both are due for a nap, soon.  Niece gets off work around 4 p.m., not sure about what's going on with nephew's wife -- his birthday is today and I think he's off today, she was going off to donate platelets for some Cause or another.
I've been doing laundry and stuff around here, just got done with another load of dishes (by hand, note).  Ran down to ATM to get money to pay the rent on this hovel.  Hope it makes it through the winter but I'm starting to have my doubts on that.  After that, it could get real difficult for us.

I've been watching the News off and on.  Not much good going on, and things seem to be spiraling out of control, worse and worse.  I'm tempted to say that this won't end well.  Certainly has that appearance.

I am reminded of the poem that Yeats produced, after that great bloodbath of the First World War, the  one that the worthless imbecile Woodrow Wilson called the "war to end all wars".  He was wrong on that, of course, but then he was wrong about nearly everything.  So he's worshiped by the "progressives" to this very day.

THE SECOND COMING
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

    Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
    Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds.

The darkness drops again but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Written in 1919.  Sounds like the front pages today.

Today's Old Testament reading is taken from chapters 4 and 5 of the Song of Solomon.

Song of Solomon 4
1 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead. 2 Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them. 3 Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks. 4 Thy neck is like the tower of David builded for an armoury, whereon there hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men. 5 Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies. 6 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense. 7 Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee. 8 Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, with me from Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and Hermon, from the lions' dens, from the mountains of the leopards. 9 Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck. 10 How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices! 11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon. 12 A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed. 13 Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard, 14 Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices: 15 A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. 16 Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.

Song of Solomon 5
1 I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved. 2 I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night. 3 I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them? 4 My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him. 5 I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock. 6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer. 7 The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me. 8 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye find my beloved, that ye tell him, that I am sick of love. 9 What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us? 10 My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand. 11 His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven. 12 His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set. 13 His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh. 14 His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires. 15 His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars. 16 His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

And the New Testament passage is chapter 13 of 2nd Corinthians.
This marks the completion of this epistle.

II Corinthians 13
1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. 2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare: 3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you. 4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. 5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates. 7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates. 8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. 9 For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection. 10 Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction. 11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. 12 Greet one another with an holy kiss. 13 All the saints salute you. 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

Illegal Aliens

(this is duplicated, more-or-less, on one of my other blogs).

Think the term ''illegal alien'' is a nasty term for what is, after all, a ''victimless crime''?? Really?
Well, you are wrong. VERY wrong.
Here are some statistics that were cited today:

  • 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
  • 75% of those on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.
  • 24.9% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.
  • 53% plus of all investigated burglaries reported in California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and Texas are perpetrated by illegal aliens.
  • 71% plus of all apprehended cars stolen in 2005 in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California were stolen by Illegal aliens or “transport coyotes”.
  • 47% of cited/stopped drivers in California have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 47%, 92% are illegal aliens.
  • 66% plus of all births in California are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal whose births were paid for by taxpayers
Kick them all out. All of them. Do it today. While you are at it, throw into prison those who hire them, either directly or through various ''cutouts'' like contractors, ''temp services'', and the like.
And, into the very same prison, throw the various ''public servants'' in positions of public trust, who swore solemn oaths to uphold the law. And refused to do so.

Is ACORN Intenionally Stuctured As A Criminal Enterprise?

A fair question, actually. One you probably won't find addressed by the LameStreamMedia. Or, given the pack of knaves in power, one addressed by the FBI or any US Attorney.
But there remain the citizens of this once-free nation.

Go here and read. Weep. Get angry. But be informed.

Illegal Alien Outrage December 16

Time for another of these. Not that it's all that pleasant a subject, but might as well, eh?

I had not heard that the USA was running so low on rapists that we need to import some. Guess I was wrong.
We have before us a perfect example of the grotesquely bad results of the President's REFUSAL to vigorously and honorably discharge the duties of the office as he had sworn to do, and it is compounded by the manifest REFUSAL by such worthless creeps as Michael Chertoff to do their sworn duty.
We have here one Marcos Velasquez-Morales, an illegal alien from -- surprise!! -- Mexico. A previously deported creep. Who entered the U.S. through the largely undefended border, came to Dothan, Alabama, down on the far southeast corner near the Florida line. And, in the course of events, raped a 9-year-old girl.
I am in favor of an expedited, fair trial. Followed by an expedited execution. Say, by noon Friday of this week. And I would not weep of some of the so-called ''public servants'' whose non-feasance in office permitted this, were to spend the rest of their lives in the worst prison we can devise.

Go ahead, read it.

Build the dang WALL! Mine it. And declare war on Mexico.

Illegal Aliens Again, 16 Nov.

Like the idea that a 4-times-arrested, and not deported, illegal alien could be in jail again? How about the fact that this time it is for the rape and sodomizing of a 2nd grader? Read it here. Read the previous installments too.

Tell me again about those ''jobs Americans will not do''. Tell me again. Or don't. Because it is a lie. Persons repeating it are liars. Whether they are the creeps of LaRaza, LULAC, or whether the lie is coming from the lips of the President of the United States. It is a lie. I do not respect liars and don't like having them around me. Do you?

Are we so lacking the the proper number of rapists that we must import some? From the article, there are between 300,000 and 450,000 inmates in US jails that should be deported. And probably won't be.
I agree. Don't deport them. Hang them. And their enablers should suffer a severe penalty.

Another Installment in the Illegal Aliens Saga

We haven't done one of these for a little while.

Let's see, we have here a report of how the Dallas Independent School District, in open and gross violation of law and of basic decent behavior, has been and remains complicit in widespread fraud, identity theft, collusion, and aiding and abetting criminal behavior. It seems they've been PROVIDING fake Social Security numbers, including some belonging to real live U.S. citizens, in order to get illegal aliens on the payroll. Including those who will have contact with school children, (this is a school district, remember?)
Now, I am on record as favoring summary execution for any and all illegal aliens polluting our land. I have no different a recommendation for those colluding in this matter. Starting at the very top.
Hang them. All. Publicly. Today.

While we're on the subject, let's turn our attention to San Francisco, California. There we have a young person, or did: he's dead now. At the hands of, you guessed it, another illegal alien. One that was arrested last year on an assault charge, but was as a matter of policy, shielded by the officials of that sordid city on the bay.
So, as a result of criminal nonfeasance in office and collusion in concealing a crime, a very real young man, Ivan Miranda by name, is dead. Dead, murdered in fact, at the hands of one Rony Aguilera. I am not inclined to be nice. Rony Aguilera is an illegal from Honduras. One might suspect he did not come alone to stink up this country. Take him and his cohorts out, today yet, and execute them all as non-uniformed invaders. But do likewise to the low-down, slimy creeps that run the city of San Francisco. They also have blood on their hands and deserve nothing more than this.

Today's Reading 01 November 2008

Happy Saturday, happy 1st day of the month of November. This year seems to be rushing to a close.
I am writing this listening to a version of one of my favorite classical pieces, Samuel Barber's Adagio, the Agnus Dei, but done primarily with voices. It is remarkable, and bids to become one of my very favorite pieces. It takes me places. I recommend it highly. See it here.

I have to take Dear Wife to the doctor in the morning, the local walk-in clinic. She has a bite on her leg that has been there several days now. She looked on-line, and it bears a disturbing resemblance to the bite mark of a Brown Recluse spider. She doesn't need that, not that anyone does, ever, but with her gone-wild immune system, anything is bad.

We have an election coming up this next week. Voting is very important. Prayer is even more so. I'm not a political junkie and not one given to seeing evil conspirators behind ever shadow. But we are called to be Christians, His ambassadors to the world, and I read that to mean conducting ourselves in the voting booth as He would wish. I am not all-wise. But I do believe, firmly, that supporting abortion is repugnant to the Lord, and supporting a candidate who opposed legislation intended to protect babies who survived an abortion attempt is evil. And I regard that candidate, Barack Hussein Obama, as a person utterly unfit for ANY position of public trust. Any. Your mileage may vary. But I will NEVER support this guy.
By the way, it just came out that his aunt, an ILLEGAL ALIEN, is living in taxpayer-funded housing, FOUR YEARS after being ordered out of the country. Oh, and in violation of federal law, is listed as a campaign donor to Obamarama. And the Obama campaign, also in violation of federal law, has accepted the donation. Read the story here.. One might mildly note that this is almost certainly not the only such case of its type, one of the many lousy results of the Bush administration's refusal to honor, obey, and enforce the laws.
That does not necessarily translate into a vote for John McCain. I don't like him much better.
Both of these guys are statists, centralizers of federal power, a direct contravention of the intent and clear language of the Constitution. I regard the presence of either of them, and certainly of both of them, on national tickets for the Presidency, as being sufficient proof of the decadence and rot within the nation.
Vote. Pray first. Pray afterwards as well.

This morning's reading is chapters 31 and 32 of Jeremiah

Jeremiah 31 Back to Top
1 At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.
2 Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.
3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.
5 Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.
6 For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God.
7 For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.
8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.
9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.
11 For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
14 And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.
15 Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.
16 Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
17 And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.
18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God.
19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.
20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.
21 Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.
22 How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.
23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.
24 And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks.
25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.
26 Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.
27 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.
28 And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.
29 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge.
30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:
36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.
38 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.
39 And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.
40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.

Jeremiah 32
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.
2 For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah's house.
3 For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;
4 And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;
5 And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.
6 And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
7 Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.
8 So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.
9 And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.
10 And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.
11 So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open:
12 And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.
13 And I charged Baruch before them, saying,
14 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.
15 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.
16 Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying,
17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
18 Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,
19 Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:
20 Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;
21 And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror;
22 And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;
23 And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:
24 Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.
25 And thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
26 Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
28 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:
29 And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.
30 For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD.
31 For this city hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,
32 Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
33 And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.
34 But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.
35 And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
36 And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence;
37 Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:
38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:
39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:
40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
41 Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.
42 For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.
43 And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
44 Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.

This evening's passage is chapter 2 of Titus
Titus 2
1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Illegal Aliens Again 25 October 2008

Haven't done one of these in a while. Not for lack of material, anything but.

Try this one, out of Phoenix, Arizona. Nice headline

Phoenix officer dies in car crash.

Another American citizen, a law enforcement officer, killed by an illegal alien named Jose Gonzalez. Another illegal alien from Mexico who already had a number of warrants for his arrest.
A homicide while committing a crime. Sounds like a death penalty case to me. Hang him. Do it quickly, do it publicly, and leave the corpse to dangle and rot right in front of the nearest Mexican consulate. If the consular officials join him on the gallows, that is fine by me.

Or, further away, in Queens, New York,

The perp, one Raul Nunez, is an illegal alien from Dominican Republic, who has been previously deported over the small matter of a drug bust. Again, my recommendation is to expeditiously try, convict, sentence, and hang this creep, and to do so quickly and publicly. Like today.

These creeps are NOT citizens. They are, in my view, not entitled to the Constitutional protection accorded citizens and lawful visitors. They are criminals, at best (an in the case of Mexican nationals, are nonuniformed invaders from a hostile foreign power) and should be executed on sight.

And their enablers and apologists are welcome to share a place on the gallows. Treason, giving aid and comfort to the enemy during hostilities, and Mexico in particular is certainly a hostile foreign power openly conniving to ''reconquista'', and thus aiding invaders from there constitutes treason. Act accordingly.

Illegal Aliens Again

We haven't noted one of these for a while. Not from lack of material, certainly.
But occasionally, one gets one that just illustrates in a way that even those who are guilty of the most egregious willful blindness partisans (George W. Bush, are you listening???) ought to admit show how vile some -- many , perhaps -- of these illegal alien invaders are.
Comes now a report out of the Knoxville, Tennessee News Sentinel, of a woman attacked, raped, sodomized, and then strangled, while a paying guest at a Days Inn hotel in the area. A hotel that employed an illegal, one Valentino Vasquez Miranda, who allegedly committed these hideous offenses with the assistance of a master key card.

I would like to see the person or persons who hired this mook hang from the same gallows that are used to execute Mr. Miranda. And I really see no reason that this should not be accomplished this very weekend. Mr. Miranda is not a citizen. He is not entitled to the protection accorded to citizens of this nation or lawful visitors thereto. He is an non-uniformed invader, and as such should be considered somewhat the same way we regard cockroaches. Hang him. Do it today.

Illegal Immigration Again, Still, Whatever

It is difficult, probably impossible, to have a decent, worthwhile society that does not also have a sense of order. That is not the only requirement of course, but it is a necessary one. Part of that is that we draw lines. This is acceptable, that is not. Here is where we get our drinking water, over there is where we flush our toilets into. Don't get them confused, you won't like the results. We drive on this side of the road, not that side or the center. Say ''pl;ease'', '' thank you'', ''excuse me'', and the like. This house is yours, that is mine. Know the difference.
We also say that this area here is marked off and has set up its own rules. This is yours, that is theirs. Don't get them mixed up.
Finally, we say that this area here, and we define it pretty well, is a nation. They have their territory, their rules, their arrangements. You are not free to enter without permission, any more than they can waltz into your home and rearrange the furniture or sell off what you don't like.
These things are pretty basic, a 9-year-old can generally understand them. Unfortunately, some of our politicians lack the understanding, or the ethics, of a 9-year-old. And so we have problems.
The article I've linked to, above (and found again here ) is a discussion concerning this. It's long. Read it anyway, it's worth the time spent.

Reference to the Laws on Illegal Aliens

I occasionally receive e-mails from those who are unhappy about my stance on the issue of illegal aliens in the United States. I've been accused of all sorts of awful things, and also, on occasion, been engaged by those who have a position that they present in a reasonable manner.
We can argue the best ways to alter the existing laws. That discussion is a reasonable one. But, unless and until that happens, there are laws on the books, ones that have in fact been there for a good bit of time now, and those laws are supposed to be honored, and obeyed, and enforced. We all know that none of those are really going on, which is a very bad thing for the nation. Worse is that some of the worst offenders are those occupying high positions of leadership in government, business, politics, organized religion, and other associations.
There is a law. I recommend that everyone become familiar with it, and then perhaps one might press those persons, particularly those in government who are at least theoretically accountable to the citizens of this once-free land, to in fact do the jobs they are being paid to do.
Here is the reference. It refers to the Federal Immigration and Nationality Act Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)
Then tell me again why we have to ''press 1 for English'', or accept that there are ''sanctuary cities'' and ''sanctuary states''.

Illegal Alien Murders Another 22 March 2008

Why not post another one? There have been so many, it's mentally wearying, but someone certainly needs to pay attention. The President of the United States obviously isn't, neither is Mike Chertoff (spit), neither is the governor of California (or several others), and obviously neither is the awful mayor of Los Angeles. Someone needs to.
The result of the corrupt refusal to defend the nation and both obey and uphold the law is another dead citizen, a family with a dead son, young men without a friend, and more anger that is all too often legitimate.
Try the headline

Man Accused in High School Football Star's Shooting Reportedly in Country Illegally

That pretty well says it, but read the story. The murderer is an illegal, who had just gotten out of jail. Nobody bothered to check his status while he was in stir. Had they had the brains and the sense of duty to do so, a young man might still be alive. But no one bothered. There is a name for this. Several, actually. Dereliction of duty is one term.

This morning's Illegal Aliens posting

Haven't done one of these for a while. Not from lack of stories, clearly.
Try this one, an illegal alien charged with the rape of a child. An El Salvadoran this time, it's not just from Mexico that the problem comes, (but let's face it, having a common border does make it easier). By the way, he'd been deported before.

Or this one. A Honduran this time, who permanently injured visitors in the area. Oh, and by the way, he's previously been convicted of other crimes, but no one could be bothered to check his status at those times, otherwise perhaps someone with a sense of duty would have kicked the bum out and the world would be a better place. But they'd have to do it against the express wishes of the utterly worthless and contemptible Mike Chertoff.

Yes, W. Just raping the children, assaulting the police, crippling the citizens and doing the drunken driving that Americans won't do. Thanks. Thanks for nothing.

Illegal Aliens March 11 2008

Haven't done one of these for a while, but not for lack of material. But we're due. Overdue in fact.
Here's a more or less standard one. It's out of Los Angeles, home of many illegals, something everyone is aware of, except of course for the President, or for Mike Chertoff (spit, spit), or for any of a number of what were once quaintly called ''Public Servants'', who swore solemn oaths to uphold and enforce the law, but who evidently had their fingers crossed for part of that ceremony.
We have here another dead person, someone murdered by a gang member who just happens to be an illegal alien, one Pedro Espinoza.
Four years after Pearl Harbor, all but one of the ships sunk had been raised and returned to service, Italy, Germany, and Japan were conquered and occupied nations in ruins. Six years after 9/11, and more than 150 years after the treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo, we still - STILL - do not have a continuous defended border wall with the enemy state to our south. Mexico is and has evidenced every intent to remain a hostile power. Yet our chief executive and his appointees refuse to build that barrier, refuse to defend the border, refuse to enforce the law, and permit nearly unobstructed access to those who murder our citizens.
You may have a nice term for this. I have several that are less so. They range from Dereliction of Duty up to Treason.
Meanwhile, hang one Pedro Espinoza, and do so publicly.

Today's Illegal Alien Outrage -- 03 Feb08

Haven't done one of these in a while. Not for lack of examples, it just wearies me.
Comes now a story out of Morristown, Tennessee, about a couple being harassed by the Nazi's within the IRS over unpaid taxes, on the brink of being arrested for bad checks, denied unemployment compensation, and enduring a number of other issues.
For crimes and deceits practiced by ILLEGAL ALIENS who stole their identity.
Oh, by the way, it wasn't these citizens who did all these things. It was ILLEGAL ALIENS
Once again, we see that the ILLEGAL ALIENS were actually employed by a company with quite a history of hiring ILLEGAL ALIENS, Koch Foods.
You can see the story, here:

Daily Illegal Aliens Outrage December 15

The story comes from the Citizen Tribune in Morristown, Tennessee. And it involves American citizens suffering damage as a result of the actions of illegal aliens in our country and the - in my humble opinion - criminal nonfeasance in office and manifest dereliction of duty on the part of a variety of public officials. A string reaching right into the Oval Office.

George W. Bush, j'accuse!
Oh, and the story involves a familiar name, Koch Foods. A firm already in trouble for hiring illegal aliens at a variety of plants, and which should have been in trouble for similar actions at other ones as well. I'd like to see the CEO in prison and his personal assets looking at forfeiture. That might get some attention.

Anyway, here's the headline Newport couple faces taxes on income never earned

The story gets really ugly. It gets into identity theft. It gets into illegals using someone else's identity to work in another state. It gets into the point that the IRS wants to seize and sell the victim's home in order to satisfy tax obligations run up by the illegal alien, Elizabeth Velasco Bautista. You'll love this part: ''
The interloper in Mr. Costner’s life was Douglas Valdez, according to Ellis. Ellis says Valdez avoided the identity-theft charge because a judge ruled that it was not a crime to use someone’s identity to obtain employment.''
Like that?
Oh, and the victim's husband got in a problem due to these illegals when in ''
April 2006 when learned that he was in danger of losing his driver’s license because of unpaid citations for speeding and driving without insurance.

The traffic stop came at 3 o’clock in the morning while Mr. Costner was asleep. Also, the driver reportedly did not speak English.''
and that creep turned out to be Douglas Valdez.

So, our country is invaded by criminals, with the criminal connivance of Koch Foods and the criminal dereliction of duty by public officials at all levels, and citizens go through great troubles at the hands of that same government.
This is not what some of us thought that this country was all about.

BUILD THE DANG WALL!!

DECLARE WAR ON MEXICO, AND PROSECUTE IT!!

DEPORT ALL THE ILLEGALS, DO IT NOW, AND BILL THE NATIONS OF ORIGIN FOR THE COST, WITH INTEREST, AND DON'T BE POLITE ABOUT COLLECTING IT

Another link

Another new link -- ProAmerica Companies.
These are companies that have pledged to actually obey the law with respect to the employment of citizens and legal resident, only. (Odd, is it not, that this is now considered unusual, even controversial in some places. Probably likely to be labeled ''hate speech'' or some such nonsensical blather.
Check it out.

Thanks for nothing, W.

Illegal Aliens October 15

I haven't been keeping up on this like I should - there are so many such things that one gets tired.
Let's try this one on for today. Story out of the Phoenix area Illegal Immigrant Picked Up For Shooting Cop. Oh, and by the way, he's been deported before.
Hang him. Hang him by the neck until he is dead, and let the corpse hang there for the carrion birds to enjoy. And do it publicly. And do it soon.
He didn't learn once. He could have, and should have been shot the first time as a non-uniformed invader. He should not have been taken alive. And he should not spend a period of time getting 3 hots and a cot courtesy of the American taxpayer. Hang him.
And send out two bills. One to the lousy bums who operated the government of Mexico.
And one to the lousy bums in the US government who refuse, REFUSE, to do their sworn duty to this nation. You know their names.

Politics, and ''Strict Constructionism''

I've been engaged in some Internet wrangles here and there on the issues of the upcoming Presidential election. Generally, these wrangles get to be a whole lot like the old flame wars of Usenet, generating much more heat than light, and are of little benefit to any one or any cause.
Yet once in a while I get drawn in. probably foolishly.
One of the issues that's banging around here and there deals with the stands that various candidates might take. Some of those stands are principled stands, some of them are ''politico-speak'', meaning they sound like a strong stance for a principle but, when examined, are mostly fluff, or they don't mean what you think they mean.
One of these terms is ''strict constructionist''. Some of the Republican candidates, notably Rudy Giuliani, proclaim the intention to appoint ''strict constructionist'' judges should they be elected.
So, I wrote,

'.. we need to define ''strict constructionist''. A true-to-the-Constitution judge would recognize that the Court is supposed to be a passive referee, NOT the ''Lawgiver'' to the nation. And would recognize that 80-85% of federal activities are unconstitutional. Would immediately overturn Roe as wrongly decided, to heck with the pernicious bowing to stare decisis. Would keep the federal courts at ALL levels out of issues that properly belong to the States, or the Executive and Legislative branches. Would return to the proper, weak role, in other words.
Now, pause for breath. Does anyone really believe that's what he means?? Or does he mean ''we'll bow to existing bad decisions and attitudes, but promise to not get much worse very fast''?? 'Strict constructionist' seems to be politico-speak, sounds impressive but means little. I want Originalists. I don't trust Rudy to do that. Do you?

There was a posting on a great web site, the Evangelical Outpost, this week that got into just this issue. He was responding to a post and responded the link is here.

And this illuminates part of the problem Politicians use politico-speak because they perceive that by fogging some issues, that potential supporters will read the terms to mean what they hope they mean. The 'strict constructionist' phrase is a great example.
If you were to read the Constitution, and the debates and discussion that surrounded its creation and ratification, you would not find any support for the monstrosity that now squats astride our nation that is titled The Courts. None. The courts were envisioned as relatively passive referees. More a court of Common Pleas, with a few levels of Appeals courts. Not by any means the Court of St. James, not the creator of law, not the real Lawgivers. The weakest branch of government, in fact and in intent.
Fast forward about 225 years and what do we see? We see that national elections are now contentious in new ways, as the fight gets to be about who will be empowered to appoint and to confirm appointees to the Courts. As if our civil order had morphed into this: all our elections are simply to set in office a further level of Electors, who in turn appoint the real power in the land. Read the Constitution again. Find support for such a thing. Take your time. You'll be a while, because it's not there, has never been there, and such a thing was never contemplated.
And that is why the issue of ''strict constructionism'' gets to be an issue. Because we don't have good agreement about what the term really means. And it's important. It's important for a lot of reasons, but one of them is that it's about useless to attempt useful conversations when we don't have common understanding of the meaning of the words being employed. And because sometimes meanings are left vague in order to prevent that very clarity of meaning.
All of that being said, let me propose a term, and then describe its meaning.
Let me propose the term ''foundational'' and the phrase ''foundational judge''
As for the description, let's try these phrases:
  • a foundational understanding of the Constitution and of Constitutional Law is one that John Jay would agree with
  • a foundational understanding of the Constitution and of Constitutional Law is one that both the Federalists and the anti-Federalists would have been in general agreement with
  • a foundational understanding of the Constitution and of Constitutional Law is one that recognized the uniqueness of America, her history, culture, institutions, and laws, and rejects any and all attempts to modify this understanding through appeals to the laws, history, culture, and such of foreign nations. It also rejects such appeals to international law as superseding the US Constitution and US laws.
  • a foundational understanding of the Constitution and of Constitutional Law is one that recognizes the limitations of the Courts, and recognizes that the basis of US law is the Constitution, the federal statutes, and that findings of a court in a particular matter do not outweigh the actions of the other two branches of government acting in concert.
  • a foundational understanding of the Constitution and of Constitutional Law is one that defers to original intent, it does not presume to reinterpret the Constitution to be more ''relevant'', recognizing that this is the exclusive province of the Legislative Branch.
  • a foundational understanding of the Constitution and of Constitutional Law is one that rejects utterly the foreign notion of 'Common Law' as superior or even equal to statute, that rejects the notion that the ruling of a court is in any way to be construed as law binding on any other parties other than those in a particular case.
  • a foundational understanding of the Constitution and of Constitutional Law is one that promotes humility of sitting judges, and expects that their tenure on the bench should be limited, not a lifetime position.
Others may take issue with any or all of these, propose additions, or propose an alternate phraseology. They are welcome to do so. Invited in fact: I am a poor-but-honest engineer and amateur Bible teacher, not a jurist nor a philosopher. And certainly not the wisest person who ever lived. Yet it is clear to me that the current situation is insupportable.
Roe v. Wade, Kelo, and some others are just terrible and travesties, certainly not advertisements for the wisdom or legitimacy of the Courts. Unless and until they are both overturned, and safeguards put in place to prevent future egregious assaults upon the nation, the country is not safe.
As I have said elsewhere, the American Revolution was fought at great cost in large measure to remove us from the unaccountable rule of kings, princes, dukes, barons, and the like. We most assuredly did not do so, and then convene a Constitutional Convention in order to substitute instead the rule of judges at any level. Pretending otherwise is a lie, and pretending that the current state of events is proper and intended is a lie as well. We need to pitch it out.

Effects of Illegal Aliens -- Oct 11

Just looked over an e-mailing from Monster.com, the internet jobs board. Saw a position that looked quite interesting, a company out of the Memphis area - very nice area - with the name of Tomson, I gather they do something or other that is entertainment related. I became quite interested
Until
A line in the list of requirements: ''ability to speak and write Spanish preferred''

I must be foolish. I thought that this was the United States of America. And while I recognize that there are some cultural anomalies along the Texas-Mexico border, Memphis is a long way from Brownsville. I find it discouraging that Memphis, Tennessee, some thousand miles away, evidently has so many illegal aliens, and Tomson in Memphis employs so many illegal aliens, that American would-be employees are expected to be familiar with the language of the invaders.
What part of this sounds like a good thing for America?

Deport the aliens. ALL the illegals.
Thanks for nothing, W.
