Some Interesting - and Ignored - History of the Democrat Party

The Democrats' Missing History

in the Wall Street Journal. It has some things in it, things right from the record, that you generally won't see mentioned in the NY Times, the alphabet networks, PBS, NPR, or most colleges. You won't find it in the textbooks in the schools either. The records have been ''sanitized'', one might say.
Need examples? OK. How about, from the article, of things not mentioned by the ''official'' Democrat Party history,

• There is no reference to the number of Democratic Party platforms that either supported segregation outright or were silent on the subject. There were 20, from 1868 through 1948.

or,

• There is no reference to the fact that it was Democrats who segregated the federal government, at the direction of President Woodrow Wilson upon taking office in 1913. There is a reference to the fact that President Harry Truman integrated the military after World War II.

There's a lot more, and much more that couldn't fit into the column inches granted the author. Go read it. Then read up on it. Then ask why this isn't mentioned more often.
