Today's Reading -- 24 June 2009

I deeply regret the light posting the last few days, and it must continue probably just one more. We are having some equipment issues and it's difficult to post more than I have been doing. This is some wonderful text, and I hate sliding past it.

I will solicit prayers for some situations here, and among some people I know and work with. I do much of my work on site at the operation of a customer that incorporates our products into their products. I was advised today that, starting yesterday and continuing through today at least, they are having a ''Black Friday'', a major RIF (Reduction In Force, a.k.a. firing people) within their salaried ranks, to the tune of around 40 people. I already know of 3 that had been escorted off the premises early yesterday morning and I had heard of others. This is a lousy time to be job hunting, believe me, I know. Keep them, and their families, and those of us stressing over it, in prayer. Times are tough: pray hard.

This morning, Job, chapters 1, 2, 3

This evening, verses 1-19 of the 7th chapter of Acts. Stephen, the first deacon and first martyr, is speaking.
