Today -- 11 July 2009

Late today. It's been rough here so far. Dear Wife had gone back to work, ostensibly part-time,in a supervisory role with a regional restaurant chain. Was supposed to go in 05:00 this morning. When alarm went off, she could barely stand. I ran her by the place to open up for the prep people, then brought her home. Took her into the walk-in clinic when it opened. To abbreviate matters, she's down with pneumonia, upper respiratory and sinus infections, and a 103 degree fever. They pumped her full of antibiotics, gave her a breathing treatment, and sent us off to the pharmacy and home. A WHOLE LOT of money later, we got home and she's semi-conscious on the bed right now, and probably will be for the next few days. She is prone to asthmatic-type stuff anyway, which does not help. The problem is that the drugs she must take daily to suppress over-active immune system (in other words, she has lupus and related auto-immune issues) also mean she is prone to actual infectious attacks. We've been through this before, and sometimes it has been a very close call indeed. We covet the prayers of all.
