Last week was unseasonably warm, at least for this area. This week, we'll make up for it. The predictions are for rain, frequently quite heavy rain with potential for flash flooding, and cool to cold temperatures. The word "snow" has appeared as a possibility in the coming weekend. Yes, I do miss living in the Deep South!
Made a bit of a trip this morning. There is a local animal charity care operation about 20 miles from here, actually pretty close to my childhood areas. They are running a deal for neutering male cats at a VERY cheap price, but you have to go today and buy a ticket, in person. So I made the long drive. Paid the fee. Came home. Back home by 10:30.
Then, about 3:15, went with niece next door (and great-niece) to a local community center. They have a fitness program with provision for those of us over-50's called "Silver Sneakers" and our medical insurance is supposed to cover at least the basic part of it. So I went down, got the Grand Tour, filled out some forms. Supposedly I'll hear from them within 48 hours. Niece warned me that the estimate might be a bit optimistic. We shall see.
What I did NOT see was any elevators. With Dear Wife's mobility issues, that is a Problem. We need to have her in some sort of physical activity, but, as here, they have an indoor pool, which might be good fro her. But it is on a 2nd floor, Up two flights of steps in a hundred-year-old structure. So we shall see.
The Old Testament reading today is chapters 62, 63, and 74 of the book of Isaiah. Prophecy. Some of it not very comforting, and the warnings came to pass.
The New Testament passage before us is chapter 5 of 1st Thessalonians, completing it.
