Today's Readings and Stuff -- Thursday, 02 August 2018
Yesterday was long and very tiring. Four kids from 1 to 11 will wear down even the strongest. Which we are not. Strongest, I mean, not kids. Fortunately, the Nephew's wife (not the nephew-in-law, note) came by to snag her two sooner than I expected, so that was a load off. And Niece of next door got home on schedule, so, after having been there from about 06:30, we were home before 6 p.m. Rested a bit, ate a bit, did dishes. I did the "gather up the week's trash" duty and hauled the can to the road for the morning trash truck thing. And then, weary.
Fortunately, though we were over there by 06:30 so that Niece could make her 07:00 start time at work, the great-niece (5, nearly 6) and the great-nephew (1 year) slept late, As in 08:30 for her and nearly 10:00 for him. No complaints from us, but someone had to be there, so we were. But it did give us a bit of easy time.

36Also the firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the law, and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, unto the priests that minister in the house of our God:
37And that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage.
38And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.
39For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the offering of the corn, of the new wine, and the oil, unto the chambers, where are the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests that minister, and the porters, and the singers: and we will not forsake the house of our God.

6Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

11Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
12For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.
13For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
14For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
16Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
