Armistice Day / Veteran's Day 11 November 2008

90 years ago, World War 1 ended with an armistice. The ''war to end all wars'' was over. We see how well that went. Been no wars, conflicts, etc. ever since then, right? Well, not exactly.
We need to honor those who gave their all for their country. The poem of ''Flanders Fields'' was once memorized by all school kids. No more, of course. Not politically correct. Not quite what the elites of the coasts want to be part of the national culture, not in keeping with the New World Order.
I have my doubts as to the wisdom of our involvement in WW1. I have only disgust with the heritage of Woodrow Wilson (spit, spit). But the courage, devotion, and honor of those who served there should never be forgotten.

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
