Today's Reading --- 08 January 2009
Late posting today, and will be light for a few days. I am leaving in a few hours on a long trip and do not expect to be back before Saturday in the very early morning. Not looking forward to it, but duty calls.
This morning's reading is chapters 20 through 22 of the Genesis. Here we first see the birth of Isaac, up through Abraham and Isaac at the altar and those famous words, ''And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering'', which of course came to pass in several ways.
The evening reading is chapter 7 of the Gospel of Matthew. It begins with one of the most mis-quoted and misapplied verses in the entire Bible, bypassing verse 21. This is Jesus speaking. Heed Him.
