Chilly here this morning, but above freezing. Barely. Wife's on recliner with additional pillows for additional height under her feet to get more elevation. Approaching 14 months after her surgery, and she still has not recovered and is in great pain every minute of every day.
At least we don't have snow. Yet. Coming soon, probably.
I have a load of laundry going already. About six weeks ago,
we she took in a rescue kitten whose feral mother and equally feral siblings had been run over. There are some things that her mother had not gotten around to teaching her, personal cleanliness being one of them. An issue not helped by having the sort of real long hair that is associated with breeds like Maine Coon, which looks like a major part of her genetics. So, to be blunt, she poops and some of it sticks to the fur around her butt. Then she gets up on our bed and leaves a trail. We've about worn out the top quilt from repeated (nearly daily) launderings, so we've taken to putting an unused sheet over top of everything. We've got LOTS of sheets, and they're easy to wash, so I am. Lots of pre-treat and bleach crystals and such in the load in so doing. But does not improve my disposition at all.
Tomorrow is Election Day. Even this morning, I'm receiving exhortations from friends, including of very long standing, each loudly touting one candidate and trashing the others. My personal preference is for Mike Castle, the candidate of the Constitution Party, but probably will not write him in. Yet to be determined. It is by no means enjoyable watching your country spiral ever faster towards destruction. I believe that the Lord can do miracles -- I've seen some -- but He also has some reasonable expectations of us, expectations that are not being met, not even in those who claim the name of Christ.
Pray. Hard. Real hard.
The Old Testament reading: chapters 46, 47, and 48 of Jeremiah. Sounds like the front page of the daily newspaper
The New Testament reading: chapter 4 of the epistle to the Hebrews.
