short shrift today, going to be an "interesting" one, in the sense of the Chinese curse.
I've already voted. Wife has the Little One today. Our plan was to go to the weekly Story Time thing at the library, then go up the street so she could vote too. But Little One is being very 3-1/2 today, so we will probably wait until niece gets off work at 3 and comes home, then go up. We shall see, I guess.
Rumors are of a heavy turnout at the polls. Wasn't real real busy when I went, but I was in the gap between when those heading to work swing by, and those who are at work sneak in at lunch time. So we shall see.
I am concerned, obviously. This run-up to the elections has been terribly bitter and rancorous. I have family member who have refused to talk to me for nearly a year now over it. And that experience is being repeated all over the country. Not a good thing, I believe. Lord willing, a few days from now a period of relative calm can take hold We shall see.
