welcome to the day book
Wife was awful sick all yesterday and last night. She sent me next door yesterday afternoon to beg off from "watching" the great-niece: no point in endangering the little one and she probably wouldn't have been a safe guardian anyway. I expected her to be calling the doctor office this morning first thing, but she didn't. She did have me give her another of those effervescent cold things, the Big Box store version, not the more expensive ones from Alka-Seltzer. They do take the edge off the misery, so probably she has another in a continuing series of sinus infections. What it does mean is that she did not take her weekly Humira shot yesterday, won't today, and may not tomorrow either. Humira is for those who. like her, suffer from an immune system on overdrive and attacking the "good" parts of the body. It suppresses that immune response, but at the same time makes it easy for infections to race through the system. Every day is a battle for her. We're choosing to not handicap the "good" response. Bad thing, well, one of several, is that she's scheduled for a regular appointment Friday with the rheumatologist who prescribes this regimen. She says it should not be a problem. We shall see.
And this morning the monthly Social Security check hit the bank. I ran down and got gas about as soon as I was up (and the station opened), as the gas gauge was WELL below the 1/4 mark, probably as a direct result of running A/C for her during the trips she rode with me on. Stopped at the grocery store that is associated with the gas station first: you can get "rewards" for using their loyalty card to get their stuff, the prices anyway aren't bad, and it resulted in a savings per gallon of 16¢, A very nice perk for going to the nearest neighborhood-type market anyway. (and got some fresh-made donuts at the same time. Low calorie, no doubt). Off to the Big Box store in just a bit.
The Old Testament reading for the morning is Psalms 105 and 106
Our New Testament passage for this evening is verses 1-20 from Romans 15
