Happy Saturday to all.
Going to be One of Those Days, with periods of heavy rain, interspersed with short bouts of dry overcast and wind. Sound like fun to you? Me neither. I'll be doing laundry much of the day.
-- For any newcomers, Dear Wife is not in good shape, and has not yet really recovered from the major surgery to her foot and ankle that was performed a year ago yesterday. So I do all the laundry, all the (by hand at that) dishwashing, take out the trash, feed the cats, do the litter pans, try to keep stuff picked up, and all that stuff. So, yes, I'll be doing laundry.
When I was single, much of that time I lived in pretty bare-bones locations, and that's understating it. So, once a week, baskets of laundry into the car and off to the laundromat. Sometimes in the middle of the night, sometimes not. When Wife and I met and were dating, I lived in a small one-bedroom apartment in an apartment house. What WAS nice, was that if I went out my door and turned right, I was in the building's laundry room. One washer, one dryer, and a big laundry sink, and some rods to hand clean clothes on. When we got married, getting a washer and dryer was very high on the "I Want/Need" list. Now, we have an -- old -- washer and dryer just inside the back door, so doing the laundry isn't too bad. At least I don't have to iron stuff. My mom used to iron bedsheets. Forget that!
And I'll be prepping for the Bible lesson tomorrow. I've been offered the chance to lead the adult Bible study at the church services this month. There are none of the prepared lessons that I'd come to rely on while leading studies in churches across several states, so what is being presented is what I feel led to present. We'll be in James chapter 4, unless the Lord leads me elsewhere. Lord willing, that is.
The Old Testament reading begins the book of Ecclesiastes with chapters 1, 2, and 3.
The New Testament reading is chapter 9 of 2nd Corinthians.
