And a good Monday to all who stop by.
So we will start again.
While I am not ready to go into detail, I'm slowly, ever so slowly, coming to some conclusions and some determinations about the future. Since I left the world of regular work and we moved the nearly thousand miles from our residence to our current one, I've been struggling with the whole issue of purpose and what the Lord is calling us to do. There are places in this country that I'd far rather be, and that's the truth. There are situations and circumstances that I'd far rather be in. But that is not important. What is important is discerning the Lord's will and being faithful to obey that will, whatever it is. My comfort and pleasure isn't important. I don't know where this will lead, and I will probably make some embarrassing mistakes along the way. Some of them may be more in the way of learning experience than fatal errors. The Lord knows what He is doing, even if I do not.
Our Old Testament reading today is Psalms 79, 80, and 81.
Our reading in the New Testament is verses 1-18 of chapter 8 in the Epistle to the Romans.
Paul is and has been introducing the doctrine of justification by faith alone,in Christ alone. Here he is getting into the related matters of the change in the very nature of the believer. The change is the new birth, the "born again" reality. This is not something we accomplish in our own strength, it is a work of the Spirit of God.
Yes, this is important stuff.
