And Sunday has arrived, the first day of the week. I am told that the old-line Quakers and Puritans consistently referred to the days of the week by number. They believed, correctly, that these common names were those of false gods, and using those names would be to honor those pagan beliefs. For example, Friday was based upon the goddess Freya. Thursday upon Thor. Wednesday for Wotan / Odin. And so forth. I don't go that far, primarily since we don't use those terms to knowingly honor those pagan beliefs. But I understand the point.
